Program Agenda:
The workshop will provide agencies with information on requirements to start a drone program:

  • Licencing- Basic, Advanced rules as well as flight review requirements for emergency services operators
  • Training program requirements
  • This morning workshop will provide an opportunity for fire services to see and try a variety of drone systems from DJI and Parrot in practical settings at a fire training facility.


  Attendees will also be able to see and try the training program that forms the foundation of NFPA 2400 Standard for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) Used for Public Safety Operations Both basic and advanced training stations will be available in indoor and outdoor settings. To operate a drone in Canada operators require either a Basic operators certificate issued by Transport Canada or and Advanced certificate which includes a flight review) Also required is operator instruction on the drone system being used.
